Back Lane – Tenby Oil 50 x 70 cm The quiet back lanes around the harbour in Tenby are narrow and wind between old buildings still used for fisherman's tackle and sailing equipment. This painting captures the contrast in texture between the more recent pastel painted guest houses in the town above to the stone buildings below.

	These recent paintings, some in a panoramic format, explore elements of the local landscape. The 'Chains' series of paintings depict the textures and colours of these rusting chain links as I have found them illuminated by sunlight, on Fishguard Lowertown harbour wall. The wide skies and the Preselli hills dwarf the megaliths of 'Gors Fawr' while the Pembrokeshire clffs reveal the folded rock strata protecting natural harbours and inacessible beaches. Painted in a realistic style these pieces use heightened colour to capture their particular landscape view.
